Adam, the shadow of the Bridegroom (Part II)

Adam’s marriage took place in the month of Tishri, the 7th month of the Jewish calendar, see my last post or go to www.unveilingthebride.com . In that article we noted that God had provided a bride for His son Adam, a prophetic picture of the time and season He would provide a bride for Jesus, the son of God.

Here are a few parallels of Adams life to that of the last Adam Christ (Romans 5:14). Adam willingly was put to sleep, synonymous with death, to receive a bride for himself. Jesus willingly went to the cross and died to receive His bride. Adam shed blood from his side when God took his rib as a bride and Jesus shed his blood on Calvary when blood poured from His side as a result of the puncture wound from a spear. Adam’s bride leads him to the garden to partake of the tree that causes death. Jesus at the garden calls His bride to the tree that gives life, the cross.

In the month of Tishri many prophetic shadows cast their image onto the end time events. For one, the first wedding took place, shadowing the time for the last wedding between Jesus and His bride. The last three feasts are celebrated in this month where judgment and reconciliation meet. It’s the beginning of a new relationship with God and the end of sin. Isn’t it interesting that the earth was created on this 7th month when Israel would experience a new beginning with God. Scripture says that from the time of the foundation of the world, God finished His works (Hebrews 4:3). No wonder God created the earth in the 7th month as a shadow of His completed works where sin was dealt with for Adam as well as for all mankind! There is a wedding being planned and it will be held at the appointed time, in the month of Tishri, particularly the Feast of Trumpets a day of rest for you and men!
