Can You Pass the Test?

“Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith, examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ in you- unless indeed you fail the test” (2 Corinthians 13:5).

You may call yourself a follower but so did those in Matthew 7:22-23. Yet they failed the test when Jesus declared to them…”I never knew You”! So how can you know if you pass the test? If you are honest with yourself, you will know. John said…”The one who says, I have come to know Him, and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him…for the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as Jesus walked” (1 John 2:4 & 6).

Do you want to abide in Him? Then “don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect” (Romans 12:2).

Seek For Peace

Jesus said, “The mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart” (Matthew 12:34). If you are speaking vile words about or to someone, it truly reflects the condition of your heart. “As in water face reflects face, so the heart of man reflects man” (Proverbs 27:19). Your words are revealing your heart, are they reflecting a heart full of love and concern for others? Or do they reflect a heart full of darkness, envy, and guile. God’s word tells us that we must put aside all malice (active hatred) and all guile (craftiness) and hypocrisy and envy and all slander (murder of character)… (1 Peter 2:1). We must pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14). Your words will reveal to those who hear them the hidden things of the heart. “By your words you will be condemned and by your words you will be justified” Matthew 12:37 Jesus AD 32
