“Has the 7yr Tribulation begun?“
I’ve noticed that many believe that the 7yr tribulation has already begun. They say this in order to formulate a date to fulfill a theory. Don’t get me wrong, I’m looking for His return as well but everything must add up. John the beloved says that he who has wisdom and understanding; let him calculate the number of the beast. To calculate something correctly we must not ignore simple math and understanding nor wisdom.
In Daniel chapter 8 a question was asked, “How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifices and the transgression of desolation to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot (Daniel 8:13)? There are two questions asked in this verse. How long will the daily sacrifice last and how long will the transgression of desolation of the temple be. In verse 14 the answer is given as the sum of both, 2,300 days.
If we believe the daily sacrifices will begin again for the Jews people then a Temple must be built. The Scripture gives us from the time it is built all the way to the desolation of the Temple until it is once again to be cleansed to be 2,300 days.
We know that Daniel has told us there would be a 7yr covenant but in the middle of the covenant the abomination would come (Dan. 9:27). A prophetic biblical month is 30 days; see Rev. 13:5 & 11:2. Therefore, a 7yr period would equal 2,520 days. 7yr x 12 months x 30 days= 2,520 days. Daniel again gives us another set of days starting from the time that the regular sacrifice are abolished to the completion of the abomination to be 1,290 days (Dan. 12:11).
We can take the 7yr covenant of 2,520 days and get the first half leading up to the abomination of desolation by dividing the total days of a 7yr biblical period of 2,520 days and get 1,260 days because the abomination is set up in the middle of the week (Dan. 9:27). The second half would be 1,260 days but Daniel has added 30 days for the cleansing of the Temple in Daniel 12:11 by telling us the 1,290 days are counted from the abolishing of regular sacrifices to the abomination completion. This would give us a total of 2,550 days.
What does all this add up to be? It gives us the very date the Temple will be completed. From the signing of the covenant till the cleansing of the Temple will be 2,550 days. If we take the 2,550 days and subtract it from the 2,300 days which was the total # of days from the time the sacrifices began till the temple is cleansed, Daniel 8:13, we come up with 250 days. This tells us that after the covenant is signed with the many, 250 days later the Temple will have been built and the regular sacrifices will have started!
This is why we know that the 7yr tribulation has not begun. There is no Temple nor the return of daily sacrifices. When the covenant is made Israel will build the Temple in approximately 9 months, which is according to Scripture and the link of time it took to build the Tabernacle of Moses. Note the Tabernacle that dwelt among us Jesus took approximately 9 months till He was delivered. Sorry the tribulation has not begun!
